April 14, 2026 — Apple today officially launched Apple Business, a new all-in-one platform for organizations of all sizes. The service is available starting today in the U.S. and over 200 countries and regions, including Japan.
What is Apple Business?
Apple Business consolidates three previously separate products into a single unified platform:
Apple Business Connect — brand presence and local discovery
Apple Business Essentials — mobile device management (MDM)
Apple Business Manager — IT administration and deployment
These three services are being discontinued as standalone products. All existing Business Connect data — including claimed locations, place card information, photos, and organization details — will automatically migrate to Apple Business at launch.
Key Features
Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Organizations can manage iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV devices at scale. For existing Apple Business Essentials customers, the monthly subscription fee for device management will be eliminated after April 14 — MDM is now free.
Business Email, Calendar & Directory
New integrated email, calendar, and directory services allow businesses to set up communication tools with their own custom domain. Features include:
Custom domain email (bring your own or purchase through Apple)
Shared calendars with delegation capabilities
Built-in company directory with user groups and personalized contact cards
These productivity features require iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26.
Apple Maps Branding
Businesses can enhance their presence across Apple Maps, Mail, Wallet, and Siri. A new feature coming this summer will allow businesses in the U.S. and Canada to place local ads in Apple Maps during key search and discovery moments.
Tap to Pay on iPhone
A new option to display a brand logo and name on the payment screen when accepting payments directly on iPhone, helping build customer trust.
Pricing
Apple Business is free for up to 500 users. Optional paid additions include:
iCloud storage up to 2TB per user, starting at $0.99/user/month (U.S.)
AppleCare+ for Business per device starting at $6.99/month/device, or $13.99/month/user for up to three devices
Availability
Launch date: April 14, 2026
Regions: U.S. and 200+ countries
Requirements: iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 for email/calendar features
Maps ads: Summer 2026 (U.S. and Canada only)
Why This Matters for Developers & IT Teams
For organizations already managing Apple devices, this consolidation simplifies the toolchain significantly. The free tier covering up to 500 users makes enterprise-grade device management accessible to small businesses and startups that previously couldn't justify the cost.
The integration of email and calendar services alongside MDM is an unusual combination in the business platform space — most vendors keep these layers separate across different products and pricing tiers. This unified approach could be particularly appealing for businesses already deep in the Apple ecosystem.
For developers and IT professionals, the launch marks another step in Apple's broader push into the enterprise market, complementing its recent focus on AI-powered productivity tools and the upcoming WWDC 2026 in June.
